Analysis of 2001: A Space Odyssey

This week's journal entry is relatively simple simple since we were not able to watch the film or discuss the short story in class due to the weather.  I would like you to find online at least one review, critique or analysis of the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. There are many sources available. I want you to post that article in the community and write a one paragraph summary of the article which you can post as a reply to this blog post. Please include the title and author of your article in your summary / post for easy reference. You should not post an article which has already been posted by someone else in the class.

Rob felt that the film had more meaningful things than a baby's first steps. He goes to say that the film questions "who are we and where do we come from?" he also says that Kubrick himself was something of a spiritual secularist.also rob felt that the film was mind blowing he talks about the ape-man who has to learn how to use tools in order to survive in the opening act he compares that to a man learning how to walk again in zero gravity. overall Rob felt that the film showed us how far we have come to what we have today.

Michael reflected on his very first experience of watching "2001: A Space Odyssey" as an 11 year old. It is not shocking that he states he did not fully understand it or give much thought to the message that the movies was trying to get across. He spoke about the experience and how he could not grasp what the big deal was at the time of its release. Michael continues to dissect the movie in his critique and breaks down his own interpretation and how the movie is portraying evolution of man. As an adult, he is able to explain his appreciation of the movie because of its uniqueness and encourages people to have an open mind and to watch the movie without any distractions, such as cell phones, and that they will be able to understand the movie and appreciate the beauty of it the way he does.
